HI CORPORATION 3D Rendering Engine MascotCapsule® Shipments
Exceeds 500 Million Worldwide

- Overseas shipments exceed 300 million units! -

HI CORPORATION (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuo Kawabata hereinafter "HI") today announced that the cumulative shipments of MascotCapsule hit over 500 million units worldwide as of the end of March 2009.

MascotCapsule is a 3D graphic rendering engine that has acquired the leading share in Japan. Since it enabled the rendering of 3D graphics on mobile phones in 2001, MascotCapsule has been embedded into numerous mobile phones around the world.

Overseas, MascotCapsule has been widely adopted by carriers and leading manufacturers, and its cumulative worldwide shipments exceeded 300 million units as of December 2008.

Despite being hit by the global recession these days, the shipments have steadily increased due to the proliferation of mobile handsets in emerging countries in FY 2008.
