HI CORPORATION Opens Regional Subsidiary in South Korea

HI CORPORATION (Headquarter: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kazuo Kawabata hereinafter "HI") has incorporated its regional subsidiary in Seoul, South Korea to provide solutions that include MascotCapsule® 3D engine for mobile phones, to promote content business and to enhance its support in South Korea.

<Purpose of Incorporation>

HI has started optimization to the MascotCapsule® this year for South Korea's major mobile communication carriers such as KTF and SK Telecom. MascotCapsule® has also been provided for South Korea's leading mobile handset manufacturers such as LG, Pantech and Samsung. To further develop solutions for the mobile communication market in South Korea with broader content business and enhanced support, HI has decided to establish its South Korea regional subsidiary.
By the end of this year, prospect of more than 5 million handsets for both carriers together will have MascotCapsule® embedded and game contents based on MascotCapsule® are already in distribution by many content providers including the top three companies in this industry in South Korea.
HI KOREA & CO.will introduce not only mobile device solution of HI but new solution inspired by the incomparably developing mobile market in South Korea. HI KOREA & CO. will help revitalize the MascotCapsule®-enabled contents in South Korean market and will also help build a bridge for them to the global market. HI expects HI KOREA & CO will enable broader business in Asian market.
