HI and Aplix Make Joint Business Partnership

HI Corporation along with Aplix Corporation are announcing that they have made a joint business partnership and that Aplix corporation has been given a share of HI's stocks.

Nowadays mobile phones are becoming increasingly more powerful and are able to perform more and more complex tasks. As new hardware and software are constantly being developed, and in particular within the graphics field with the release of graphics accelerators and the OpenGL ES, the market is demanding for even more advancement in mobile phone hardware and software technology.

HI and Aplix have created a partnership to work closely together on the development and implementation of their products so that both companies can provide the fastest and highest quality performance for their customers, particularly for those who are making Java and 3D contents. This cooperation will lead to a further spread of third generation mobile phones as well as contribute to further advancements in the industry. In the future, HI and Aplix also hope to work together to develop the best products possible, both in and out of the 3D market.

Also, on March 30th, HI allotted 1,500 shares at 68,750 yen per share to Aplix, worth a total of 103 million yen. After the transaction HI's net worth is at 4.8 billion yen with Aplix owning a total of 6.6% of HI's stock. In addition, Aplix has dispatched one of their board members to HI to further strengthen ties and to assure business will move smoothly in the future.
