Tokyo, Japan - Feb. 14, 2005 - HI CORPORATION ("HI") in collaboration with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) has successfully loaded HI's 3D rendering engine Mascot Capsule V4 on TI's OMAP2420 processor. Vastly improving rendering speeds and graphical expression, the implementation can enhance 3D graphics acceleration on mobile telephone handsets and handheld data terminals in practical applications of mobile terminal manufacturers.

HI has participated in the OMAP™ Developer Network since 2003, and began testing on the OMAP2420 in November 2004. The combination of OMAP2420, compatible with Symbian 8.1b, and Mascot Capsule V4 can render 3D graphics data with unparalleled performance. The technology further enriches the environment available to content developers, and extends potential usage of 3D graphics.

"HI has achieved success in Japan with its Mascot Capsule. HI's 3D rendering engine on TI's OMAP2420 with 3D graphics hardware acceleration will deliver 3D graphics and mobile gaming that are console-level quality with rich, compelling graphics on mobile phones." said Paul Werp, Marketing Director Cellular Systems at TI.

HI is exhibiting its 3D rendering engine Mascot Capsule V4 loaded on OMAP2420 at the TI Developer Village (Hall 1 - B6).
