HI's Mascot Capsule Engine Embedded in "N820" NEC Mobile
Handset Model for Sale in China
Tokyo, Japan - HI CORPORATION announced today that its mobile 3D rendering engine marketed as Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition has been embedded in NEC's mobile handset model N820 destined for sale nationwide in China.
The N820, scheduled for release in the middle of May, is equipped with a 2.2-inch QVGA LCD screen (display range of 65,000 colors), 64-chord sound chip, and stereophonic audio capability. These features make every aspect of attractive content enjoyable to its fullest extent. The model represents the first GSM handset to be equipped with Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition Version 3 for Java, a version that allows full-fledged 3D games to operate. In addition, the N820 is also embedded with Field Golf 3D ( IT Telecom Inc. HI CORPORATION ), a golf game title in which the entire scene is rendered in 3D, including characters and golf course vistas.
Release of the N820 in China will provide an environment capable of running killer content that is already commonplace in Japan. The company looks forward to the expansion of 3D content through the opportunity to serve a mammoth market developing in China.
