NTT DoCoMo N505iS Implemented with HI's User Communication Tool for
Email and Chatting : Mascot Capsule^® Engine Face Edition

Mobile 3D rendering technology pioneer HI CORPORATION (head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; paid-in capital: 289.25 million yen; President & CEO: Kazuo Kawabata; http://www.hicorp.co.jp ; hereinafter "HI") today announced that HI's user communication tool Mascot Capsule Engine Face Edition (hereinafter "Face") was adopted for implementation in the new NEC model N505iS handset to be released by NTT DoCoMo.

The newly released Face is a user communication tool for email and chatting capable of animating JPEG and BMP images of faces by establishing settings for the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. The feature augments the email function with the addition of a variety of expressive capabilities where an attached image can show different emotions in reaction to specific text in email.

Users of N505iS handsets equipped with Face will be able to set various expressions on images of themselves, their friends, or to provided characters, and thus to communicate more graphical and perceptible emotions between each other.

The inclusion of i-mode-compatible picture font characters in email text or chat text causes Face-based images to change sequentially according to the designated expressions, effects, or presentations. The feature is available only when both the sender and recipient of the message use N505iS handsets.
