HI CORPORATION to Provide 3D Software Solution to
Motorola PCS through Worldwide Licensing Agreement

HI's Mascot Capsule Engine Micro 3D Edition Will Help Enhance Gaming Experience
for Motorola Handset Users

DATE LINE - June 23, 2003 - Mobile 3D rendering technology pioneer HI CORPORATION (HI ticker symbol) and the Personal Communications Sector of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) have reached a worldwide licensing agreement for use of HI's Mascot Capsule Engine Micro 3D Edition software on select Motorola handsets. The software solution lets consumers access applications using 3D graphics on mobile phones and other personal communication devices, thereby enhancing the overall gaming experience.

The licensing agreement covers Versions 1, 2, and 3 of Mascot Capsule Engine Micro 3D Edition, as well as Version 4, which will be compliant with the Mobile 3D API (JSR 184) planned for ratification through the JAVA Community Process during 2003. In addition, HI is developing compatibility of the software-based Mascot Capsule Engine with OpenGL-ES, a mobile 3D specification developed with hardware implementation in mind.

The two companies have commenced work on several projects requiring varied implementations of 3D rendering. Motorola expects to release products implemented with Mascot Capsule Engine Micro 3D Edition in upcoming months.
