HI CORPORATION enters into Platinum Partnership Agreement with Symbian, enables 3D rendering on Symbian OS

Mobile 3D rendering technology pioneer HI CORPORATION (head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; paid-in capital: 289.25 million yen; President & CEO: Kazuo Kawabata; http://www.hicorp.co.jp) and Symbian Co., Ltd. (head office: 2-6 Boundary Row, Southwark, London, SE1 8HP, UK), formally announced that HI CORPORATION has agreed to join the Symbian Platinum Partner Program, to formally enter into the partnership, and to perform concerted worldwide marketing activities from now on.

As a result of this agreement HI CORPORATION's 3D rendering engine, Mascot Capsule Engine Micro 3D Edition operating on Symbian OS will be made available to users of Symbian OS-based devices. Users of Symbian OS-based mobile phones and other mobile communication devices will gain access to 3D rendering functionality on those devices, and will also be able to port 3D graphics application programs to them.

The two companies have already decided to pursue joint marketing opportunities in Japan and throughout the world and support each other on technical matters. These initiatives are expected to result in even faster penetration of 3D-capable devices in the mobile communications industries.
