HI CORPORATION Compatible with TRON's T-Engine
Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition Supports "T-Engine,"
the Super Development Platform of the Ubiquitous Era
Mobile 3D rendering technology pioneer HI CORPORATION (head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; paid-in capital: 260.5 million yen; President & CEO: Kazuo Kawabata; http://www.hicorp.co.jp) announced the porting of Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition (herein "Mascot Capsule Engine") to, and consequent enabling of compatibility with "T-Engine," the super development platform of the ubiquitous era being advanced by the TRON Project (project leader: Prof. Takeshi Sakamura, University of Tokyo).
This decision involves porting HI CORPORATION's software 3D rendering engine, Mascot Capsule Engine to "T-Kernel," the standard real-time OS installed on T-Engine, the super platform for embedded devices, with the goal of providing Mascot Capsule Engine-based 3DCG environments to the home electronics markets, as well as to all sorts of embedded devices where T-Engine is employed. Moving beyond its existing mobile phone markets, HI CORPORATION gains an opportunity to expand channels for Mascot Capsule Engine.
Accompanying this announcement, HI CORPORATION will exhibit demonstrations at the TRON SHOW 2003 in Roppongi, Tokyo, from December 12.

| In order to achieve a ubiquitous computing environment, which is the ultimate goal of the TRON Project, T-Engine is an effort to standardize interface specifications between the requisite hardware platform, the real-time OS installed on such a platform, and the peripherals. Consequently, the effort aims to make development more efficient for control software operating on the overall system. "T-Engine Forum" counts major Japanese semiconductor manufacturers, software developers, manufacturers of embedded devices, and home electronics manufacturers among its many participants, and is steering the R&D and standardization activities for T-Engine architecture.
